At Norton Hill Primary School, we believe that learning should be engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful for every child. Our aim is to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that allows each child to reach their full potential, experiencing learning both inside and outside the classroom through a range of creative and stimulating opportunities.
We are incredibly proud of our new school and the educational offer we provide to children in Midsomer Norton and the surrounding areas. Our commitment goes beyond academic achievement; we focus equally on the social and emotional development of every child. We understand that nurturing the whole child is essential in helping them become confident, compassionate, and resilient individuals.

A key part of our ethos is curiosity—especially through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This curiosity underpins all our work and helps create the warm, friendly, and caring atmosphere that is a hallmark of our school community. We want every child to leave Norton Hill as an independent learner, full of wonder and excitement for the next phase of their educational journey.

Our curriculum is enhanced by excellent facilities, including dedicated learning spaces for Art, Music, STEM, and Design Technology. Every class benefits from access to our wonderful outdoor learning areas, where children can explore and discover in a natural environment. We also have a strong ongoing commitment to both the Arts and Sports, recognising their vital role in developing well-rounded children. For our youngest learners, our on-site nursery, Curiosity Corner, provides outstanding care and education for children aged 2.8 to 4 years old. We also offer wrap-around care before and after school for children attending both Norton Hill Primary School and Curiosity Corner, supporting families with flexible childcare options.

In addition to all this, I want to share that we are deeply committed to building strong partnerships with parents and carers. We know that working together is essential to support each child’s learning and wellbeing. Our dedicated staff are always available to listen, support, and collaborate with families to ensure every child thrives.

We also place a high value on fostering respect and inclusivity within our school community, ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and able to be themselves.
