One of the things we value about our relationship with parents/carers at Norton Hill Primary, is the way parents engage in opportunities to support their children's learning. We try to arrange events and activities for parents/carers to learn more about the different subjects in school and how they can help their children to make the most of the opportunities on offer.

The staff at Norton Hill Primary School are inviting all children (and adults!) to complete our 2021 Nursery Rhyme Challenge. Over the next 8 weeks, we will be setting a nursery rhyme to learn. The Nursery Rhyme Challenge, is a fun and interactive way to improve speech and language in our youngest children. Rhythm and rhyme are two of the fundamental building blocks of phonological awareness. In order to support the learning of these skills we are aiming to learn a new nursery rhyme every week in the spring term. Each week the nursery rhyme will be embedded into our play and learning in the classroom. The children will enjoy singing and reciting the rhymes and will build up their nursery rhyme bank across the term.
